The Approach

Every movement tells a story

Your body is telling you something – how you move often reveals why it hurts. Chris looks past the symptom to the way your whole body moves, then treats the nervous system, muscles and joints together for longer-lasting results. Over years of work at clinics, Chris kept seeing the same problems travel up the body. Pain in one area often leads to changes in how we move, which puts extra strain somewhere else.

  • Foot: plantar fasciitis, Morton's Neuroma, heel and arch pain
  • Knee: ligament injuries, pain on the outside of the knee, ITB pain
  • Hip and back: hip pain, lower back and disc problems

Fix one area in isolation and the problem often moves elsewhere. Chris treats the whole chain, not just the link that hurts.

The side you sleep on

One of the patterns Chris sees most often is linked to sleep. In his clinical experience, the side of the body a person habitually sleeps on shapes how they walk, sit or stand and he can often tell which side it is just from watching someone walk.

Where the pattern begins

How it shows up

Chris believes this habit often forms in childhood, shaped by small details of the bedroom:

  • where the bed sat in relation to the window
  • the direction of the door and the landing light
  • how close the bed was to the wall

Later in life, sharing a bed with a partner can reinforce the pattern, making the imbalance stronger and increasing the strain on the body over time.

This kind of imbalance can show up as a dominant side in almost everything we do: the way we walk, stand and sit, the side we favour when turning, and in sport, from the way a footballer lands to a swimmer's breathing side, a tennis player's forehand and backhand, or a golfer's swing.

Restoring the signal between the body and the brain

Every movement starts with a signal from the brain to the body via the nervous system. Nerves build up electrical charge until they reach a threshold and fire, releasing a chemical messenger called acetylcholine that tells the muscle to contract.

After injury, surgery or years of moving unevenly, that signal can become disrupted, leaving some muscles switched off or firing out of sequence. Chris uses neural manipulation, fascial unwinding and Sigma Technology to help restore normal nerve activation, so muscles and joints can work together properly again.

What this means for you

Rather than chasing symptoms, treatment focuses on the root cause. That means finding the imbalance behind your pain, restoring how your body moves and helping reduce the chance of the problem coming back.

These are patterns Chris has observed consistently in clinical practice. They form the basis of his assessment method and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis.

Core Values Guiding Every Therapy Session

Chris's core values shape every interaction — from assessment to therapy delivery. He upholds integrity, scientific excellence, personalised care, and continuous innovation to serve every client effectively.

Education

Whether he is working with an elite athlete or a 60-year-old who wants to age well, Chris likes to educate them on everything he's doing and how the body functions. That way, they feel better, move better and know their body better.

Precision Care

Tailoring treatment plans to individual movement patterns and sports requirements. Keep it simple - Chris won't give his clients more than one exercise or mobility drill at a time. That way, you see the impact that exercise makes and you're never unsure what to do, when, or why.

Client Focused

Built around your goals, from everyday life to elite sport, with long-term results in mind.

Matt, Wiltshire
(Emergency Medical Consultant)

"Chris is quite unlike any professional I have encountered. He combines his personal experience of elite sport and human performance with an exceptional depth of knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. What truly distinguishes him, however, is his ability to integrate these disciplines with a sophisticated understanding of the nervous system and its fundamental role in movement, performance, injury and recovery.

His approach is genuinely holistic, bringing together an extraordinary breadth of knowledge, innovative technology and advanced therapeutic techniques to achieve results that I had previously considered impossible. His understanding of how neurological function can be assessed, trained and integrated into rehabilitation and performance is unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere.

On a personal level, the results have been remarkable. Following significant knee surgery, I genuinely questioned whether I would ever be able to squat properly again, let alone regain the explosive athletic performance I had enjoyed previously. Approaching my late thirties, I had begun to accept that some of those capabilities might be permanently behind me. Chris has proved me wrong. The improvements in both my recovery and physical performance have exceeded anything I realistically thought achievable.

Equally impressive is Chris himself. He is friendly, approachable, personable and deeply attentive. He takes the time to understand not simply an injury or physical limitation, but the individual as a whole — their history, physiology, ambitions and the subtleties that make their circumstances unique. This translates into exceptionally thoughtful, individualised treatment, rather than the conventional, one-size-fits-all approach.

I genuinely believe Chris offers something extraordinary. His ability to bridge the worlds of anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, rehabilitation and elite performance is, in my experience, unparalleled. What he is doing feels genuinely groundbreaking, with implications extending far beyond the individual clients he treats. His approach has the potential to fundamentally change how we think about injury recovery, rehabilitation and the limits of human performance.

I cannot recommend him highly enough."

Nicky, Berkshire

"The sciatic pain down my leg was affecting my sleep, my work and my mood. I'd tried rest / painkillers / other treatment with little change. The approach Chris took was calm, clear and tailored to me, with exercises that fitted into my day. Over the next few months the pain eased a lot and I got my confidence back in moving normally. I can now sit through a workday without worrying about it."

Charlie, London

"I came in wanting to run more efficiently and stop picking up the same niggles on the outside of my knee and hip. Chris showed me how my general movement was creating the pains. He pointed out how my gait was affecting how I ran and set me some simple mobility drills to build into my training. Since then I have run my first half marathon injury-free, and running feels smoother and more enjoyable."

"I have been a client of Chris for over 13 years now.

Chris's approach is different from other therapists I have tried in the past - he looks to save the function of the body rather than treat the pain. This unique hands on technique has seen me recover from acute sports injuries and from surgery, restoring full function, strengthening and with a better understanding of the mechanics behind the injury ensuring I can return to the sports I love and remain injury free.

I have complete confidence in recommending Chris to friends, family and colleagues."
